UPDATE: Exemption from Breed Ban: XL Bullies in rescues receive an extended deadline to 1st of February 2025
From October 1, 2024, it is illegal to import, breed, sell, or rehome XL Bully-type dogs in Ireland. From February 1, 2025, it will also be illegal to even own an XL Bully without a special permit.
Many loving family dogs will be abandoned in the near future. For those XL Bully-type dogs already waiting for their forever homes, the odds have now significantly worsened. Time is ticking for these dogs, and we need your help to assist them BEFORE the law comes into effect! On October 1, these dogs will be euthanized if they do not find a home or a temporary boarding place.
We are working closely with several rescue centers to help as many as we can.
